1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2 Description of Service

ManabiDojo provides language-learning tools, including access to transcribed subtitle data to support learners. We do not provide access to any video or audiovisual content.

Crunchyroll

Japanese transcribed subtitles (time-synced to video and matching the original spoken dialogue), not officially available on Crunchyroll, are provided by ManabiDojo for free and strictly for educational use. These subtitles are sourced from publicly available repositories, where users upload them for community and educational purposes. ManabiDojo does not create or sell these subtitles. The Service does not provide access to Crunchyroll video content or bypass any Crunchyroll paywalls.

Netflix

ManabiDojo uses only the official subtitle tracks available within the Netflix service itself. Access to ManabiDojo features on Netflix requires both a paid ManabiDojo subscription and a valid Netflix subscription. ManabiDojo does not provide Netflix content or subtitles to users who do not have both subscriptions, and does not bypass any Netflix paywalls.

Free features

All users have free access to Japanese transcribed subtitles and basic language-learning tools on Crunchyroll.

Paid tier

Advanced features — such as custom flashcards, enhanced study tools, AI-powered chat, and integration with Netflix subtitles — are available through a paid subscription.

3 User-Generated and Third-Party Content

Some subtitles or content may originate from third parties or users. By using the Service, you acknowledge:

• Subtitles are for educational and personal use only.
• You may not use the Service to infringe copyright or other rights.
• Rights holders may contact us at manabihime@gmail.com to request removal of content.

4 Copyright Policy (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights and respond promptly to takedown requests in compliance with the DMCA. Submit claims to manabihime@gmail.com.

5 Payment, Billing, and Refunds

• Subscription billing. Paid features are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly).
• Cancellations. You may cancel at any time; access to paid features remains until the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds. Refunds are provided at our discretion and in accordance with applicable law. This does not affect your statutory rights. For refund requests, contact manabihime@gmail.com.

6 Restrictions

You may not:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features.

7 No Affiliation

ManabiDojo is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Crunchyroll, Netflix, OpenAI, or any content provider. All trademarks and copyrights are the property of their respective owners.

8 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. As a Chrome extension, the Service relies on and interacts with third-party websites and services over which we have no control. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or availability of any content obtained through the Service. Because third-party websites may change their functionality, structure, or availability at any time, we cannot and do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ManabiDojo is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by email, website notice, or other reasonable means. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

11 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.

12 Lawful Use of Content

The extension is intended to be used only with content that has been legally obtained by the user. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of the extension complies with all applicable copyright laws and licensing agreements. The extension must not be used to access, process, or distribute pirated, unauthorized, or illegally obtained content.
